Alas, the time has come again for us to delve into the word. It seemed good that we might linger in Galatians 2 this week, just because there seems to be more for us to unveil. It also seemed good that we might read Galatians 1 and 2 together, instead of breaking them into two parts. So, take some time to read them together this week. To keep things interesting, you also may want to read the text in a translation that you haven't been reading. So, if you don't have another translation in a physical form, check out Bible Gateway and choose one of the versions there to read it in. More power to you if you go for Spanish!
Go ahead and write down a question, thought, or section of the passage you'd like to talk about. Then, we'll bring those things to the table for discussion on Sunday.
In closing, I'd just like to acknowledge the LIGHT. Today, as I sat outside and was reading, I had to keep moving in order to stay in the sunlight, and it reminded me of the lyric: "I wanna be in the light, as you are in the light." Abide in that light this week, pilgrims.
Oh, and if anyone wants to do some further study...read up on Ephesians 1 and 2. I kept writing it "accidentally" (is anything an accident?), so who knows, it just might bless you.

Loving the Bible language AND the DCTalk reference.
I think Paul's story, summed up in Gal 1:23, is convicting. "The man who formerly persecuted us is now preaching the faith he once tried to destroy." It shows the power of God to change hearts.
I really liked the Message version of Galtions 2. In 2:6 it says God is not impressed by mere appearances. And then the end on the second chapter is expressed in a way that makes is so clear to understand. I like where he points out that the life you see me living is not mine.
Just some thoughts, have fun today guys

Just wanted to give a recap for those who weren't there on Sunday. I think we'll begin to do this on a regular basis, so check back here if you miss Sunday morning.
We talked a lot about the Paul/Peter confrontation, and just how Peter was acting one way with a group, and then another way with another group. Anyone feel his pain? We got into why he was doing that, and ultimately, why we do that. Is it sin, or is it because we don't want others to stumble? In Peter's case, it's clear it was sin (he was misrepresenting the gospel). But sometimes, we act differently around a particular person or group not because we have something to hide, but because we don't want to hinder their walk with Jesus. Which of course, led us straight into Romans 14, where this issue is talked about...check it out! The bottom line, summed up nicely by our very own Paul Mercer, is that everything we do should be out of love...we sacrifice our own freedom out of love for our brothers and sisters.
Ashley also brought up some interesting points about the people that came in and were spying on the freedom of the believers (2:4). She wondered if any of them were affected by spying. Could they be in the presence of Christ (through the believers) and witness his power, and not be changed? Good question.
And closing out the session, we gathered around and prayed for Erika as she went back to school this week. Continue to lift her up.
It's good.
