Fellow Students of God's Word...Our journey through Galatians continues.
Thanks for your time spent in the first chapter of Galatians and thanks, also for allowing me the privilege of sharing my thoughts on the Word.
As discussed, we will continue on into Galatians 2.
Please try to schedule in time daily to read the chapter.
Don't forget to pray.
God wants to reveal Himself.
ALSO, don't be discouraged if it doesn't look like you think it should on you.
(does that even make sense?--let me know)
You are loved!
You are being prayed for by name!
See ya suckas on Sunday, if not before.
ps...would it seem like a whine if a asked for a post? come on, you can do it...

More Galatians 1
What's up guys...Meaghan here. I hope you all had a sooper dooper Christmas, full of wonders. I know I saw His hand in some cool ways over the past few days. If you have too, come ready to share.
Anyway, we're still on Galatians 1 this week. If you haven't read it, now is your chance, and if you have read it, now is your chance to get even more acquainted with it. Go through it and really try to figure out what is happening in the chapter. Take a look at other passages that shed some light on the background of what this letter is talking about. Go into it not trying to necessarily apply it to your life, but just try to understand what the chapter is all about.
I also challenge you to write down one question that comes to mind when reading. It can be totally random, something to do with the text, or whatever.
And of course, your comments on the blog are always welcome. If you don't usually meet with us on Sunday mornings, or you happen to miss a week, please feel free to add to the discussion by posting.
And lastly, this week I'm off to Tennessee to hang with John's family for a little Christmas/family celebration. I don't think I'll be back on Sunday, so take it easy on Donnie. I'll be praying for you all.
LOVE.

Galatians 1
Spend some time this week pondering what Paul says in Chapter 1 of the New Testament book of Galatians. Ask questions of the Word ( i.e. How does my circumstance relate to the first century Christians in Galatia? or grace -- what's that?).
Ideally, read the chapter at least once each day. Ignore the impulse to continue on to the rest of the book, unless, of course, you feel God's lead in that. Underline or note anything that stuck out to you or confused you or thrilled you. This is the kinda stuff we will toss around on Sunday.
You may also want to read any commentary you may have available to get more information, remembering that that stuff is extra fluff (don't look forward to habitual rhyming). There's a few sites on the internet you can go...or just read the footnotes in your Bible.
As an aside, because of the impending celebration of Christmas, pull out a verse or two that points to the REAL meaning of that celebration. It will be interesting to hear how God has spoken to one another as we meet on Sunday.
And, of utmost importance, PRAY before you read. It is imperative that you invite the Holy Spirit to speak to you from the Scripture.
Posts are encouraged.

WELCOME...
..to Roots! It's the place where we'll be meeting up over the course of the week and discussing various topics...anywhere from faith, love, relationships, books of the Bible, social issues and Donna's new shoes. Every week, Donna or Meaghan will post a question/scripture/challenge onto the blog. Then, over the course of the week, come here, check it out, think about it, look up some scripture and then come to FBCGV on Sunday ready to ask questions and discuss the topic. Feel free to post comments about your findings over the course of the week...in fact, we encourage it. Thanks for stopping by...now, you stay classy, Green Valley.
